Hello from Rwanda, Nyungwe forest! I have a question about litterfall collection. In the RAINFOR-GEM manual they suggest to empty litter traps every two weeks to minimise decomposition between visits. As decomposition is temperature dependent I was wondering if there is any scientific paper that can justify to collect litterfall less often in case we have relatively low temperatures in Nyungwe comparatively to other tropical sites? Any suggestion about this? Thank you very much!

Dear Goran and Brigitte. Welcome to GEM!
I am very pleased to see more research sites in Africa, and also at high elevations (which I have a particular interest in)
We look forward to interacting with you, and hopefully help you place you work in the wider tropical context of the GEM network.
Best wishes, Yadvinder
