Brigitte Nyirambangutse

I am a PhD Student at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, working on Carbon dynamics in tropical montane forest communities, as well working as an Assistant Lecturer at the National University in Rwanda, in Biology Department.
My project is focusing on plant diversity and carbon fluxes and storage. I am interested in looking at the main determinant factors such as nutrients, climate, disturbances (fire, logging) for carbon storage

Hello from Rwanda, Nyungwe forest! I have a question about litterfall collection. In the RAINFOR-GEM manual they suggest to empty litter traps every two weeks to minimise decomposition between visits. As decomposition is temperature dependent I was wondering if there is any scientific paper that can justify to collect litterfall less often in case we have relatively low temperatures in Nyungwe comparatively to other tropical sites? Any suggestion about this? Thank you very much!
