Professor at the State University of Mato Grosso (UNEMAT), Campus of Nova Xavantina, Mato Grosso State, Brazil. The broad scope of my interest is the impact of environmental changes in biogeochemical cycles of tropical vegetations. We are focusing on phytophysiognomic determinants and vegetation dynamics at Amazon forest-Cerrado transition zone in Brazil. I'm also conducting studies on pyrogenic carbon in forestry and agriculture as a means of sequestering atmospheric CO2.
